- Five detained: three men aged 33, 37 and 43, and two women aged 26 and 46, were handed over to the Public Ministry.
- Drugs seized: 1,344 pills of probable methamphetamine, more than 25 kilos of marijuana and 100 doses of probable cocaine.
The operation and its results
Pablo Vázquez Camacho, head of the Mexico City Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC), reported that police officers executed three search warrants at the same time at properties allegedly used to store, sell and distribute narcotics.
The proceedings were backed by the Mexico City Attorney General's Office and the Mexico City Security Cabinet, and followed prior intelligence and investigation work.
Inside the properties, authorities seized 1,344 pills of probable methamphetamine, more than 25 kilos of marijuana and 100 doses of probable cocaine.
The detainees are three men aged 33, 37 and 43, and two women aged 26 and 46. All five were placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry agent, who will determine their legal status.
Another blow to license plate forgery in Gustavo A. Madero
In a separate operation, officers from the SSC, working with the Navy Secretariat (Semar) and the National Guard (GN), dismantled a property allegedly used to forge, sell and distribute counterfeit license plates in the Gustavo A. Madero district.
The action followed joint investigation and intelligence work that identified the home in the Lindavista neighborhood, on Riobamba street, possibly linked to the illegal sale of plates.
During the raid, authorities seized 19 possibly counterfeit license plates, eight of which had been reported stolen. They also confiscated a short firearm, a long firearm, usable cartridges, 95 bags of cocaine and a bulk package of green herb with marijuana characteristics.
Six men aged between 25 and 64 were detained at the site and placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry agent along with the seized items. The property was sealed and placed under police guard.
Institutional commitment
Vázquez Camacho stressed that the agency will keep fighting crime in coordination with other security authorities to strengthen security in the capital.
“La SSC refrenda su compromiso de combatir frontalmente a la delincuencia mediante el trabajo coordinado con distintas autoridades del Gobierno de la Ciudad de México y el Gobierno Federal, para construir una capital más segura y en paz”, escribió en sus redes sociales.
The results of both operations reflect a strategy of simultaneous raids and intelligence work aimed at dismantling drug sales and storage points, as well as networks dedicated to related crimes such as license plate forgery. The legal status of the eleven detainees in total will rest with the Public Ministry, while capital authorities anticipate that coordinated deployments will continue in various districts.
